TROUBLESHOOTING

There are a variety of common issues that may cause you to experience difficulty loading or viewing the videos. First, always make sure that your Internet connection and computer meet the minimum requirements listed above; also ensure that JavaScript is enabled.

Firewalls and Internet Blockers

If the videos are stuck on the loading screen or you are just getting a black screen, you may have a firewall or Internet blocker. If this is the case, you may need to change the settings to let you view streaming media from VocabVideos.com. URLs to ensure are open on your firewall settings:

Other Streaming Media Applications

Some applications, particularly streaming media applications like RealPlayer, QuickTime or Windows Media Player, may interfere with viewing Vocab Videos. Make sure that you only have applications that you need open running.

Buffering Issues

You may also experience problems if your video download speed is slow or inconsistent. We recommend pausing the video until the entire stream is downloaded and then playing the video.

Browsing History, Cache and Cookies

In some circumstances the storage of your browsing history and temporary Internet files like cookies can cause problems. We recommend clearing your history and cache.

Error 2032

Having trouble watching the videos? We have found that using some versions of Internet Explorer with certain outdated versions of Flash player can result in an “Error #2032.”

If you are experiencing such an error, we apologize for the inconvenience. We would first suggest that you try to view the videos in Mozilla Firefox or another available browser.

However, if you only have access to Internet Explorer, the following is an outline of the steps we recommend that you take to resolve the issue :

  1. Ensure that the latest version of Flash Video Player is installed on your computer. After installing, restart your PC and try to watch the videos again.
  2. Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed. Either use Windows Update or visit Microsoft's Internet Explorer page. After installing, restart your PC and try to view the videos again.
  3. If, even after you have the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Flash installed, you still experience this error, we suggest that you uninstall and then reinstall Flash (as your flash player may have become corrupted). To uninstall please follow the Flash Uninstall Instructions, and proceed to reinstall Flash. Restart your PC and try to watch the video again.
